  • How much does it cost to attend the Lodi Open Studios Tour as a member of the public?

    Open Studios is a free self-guided tour. Patrons are allowed to visit artists’ workspaces not normally open to the public.

  • Will there be an opening reception?

    YES! A preview exhibition will take place on Friday, October 17th at Double Dip Gallery for participating artists.

  • How do I figure out where to go?

  • What if I don't have a studio?

    Artists may pair up with others to jointly host in the same studio. No more than 3 artists per venue.

  • Will there be a workshop for Open Studios artists leading up to the event?

    Yes! Accepted artists will have the opportunity to attend a workshop to learn about how to present their studio to the public, get ideas for how to engage their captive audiences during the tour, and get tips on how to market their participation in the Lodi Open Studios Tour.

  • I can't participate in both days, should I still apply?

    Artists must be available for both days of the event during listed hours (11a-5p). If you are unable to participate in the entire event your application will not be accepted.

  • What are the geographic boundaries of Open Studios?

    Artists must have a space secured to show their work within the boundary of the Lodi Unified School District. This includes areas surrounding Lodi such at Morada, Lockeford, North Stockton, and beyond.

  • What if I don't want to invite the public into my home studio?

    Artists who work from their homes and do not wish to invite the public to their private residence are encouraged to team up with a local business or venue. Artists are responsible for securing their own venue with the business owner’s permission.

  • How much work do I need to have available for sale?

    Artists and crafters should be able to showcase at least 15 pieces of high-quality original artwork.

  • How much mess is too much mess for my studio?

    A “studio environment” should be featured to show patrons the creation process. Artists and crafters are encouraged to leave out some of the mess illustrating how their works are created. While some mess is encouraged, studios should be free of trip hazards, open chemical containers, or other dangers to the public.

  • Do I have to be an "active" artist to participate?

    The Lodi Open Studios Tour is intended for artists who are actively producing and showing fine art & craft.
