My work begins with vintage, discarded photographs found in antique shops, forgotten albums, and local archives. I reinterpret them through paint and charcoal into evocative, dreamlike compositions. Embracing a fluid, painterly process, I use stains, marks, and drips to both obscure and reveal, creating ambiguity that invites viewers to imagine their own narratives. Centering often-unrecognized women, my work serves as a feminist act of remembrance and reinterpretation, exploring themes of memory, misremembrance, and the ways we construct personal and collective histories through fragmented pasts.
