I have had an active career as an Art Professor and professional artist in the Stockton/Lodi area for over forty years. My paintings are in public and private collections nationally. I owe much of my development as an artist to my colleagues and students at the University of the Pacific. Teaching talented, engaged students was a consistent motivator for me to keep learning. I retired from the University in 2019 to devote more of my time to painting in my studio and in our region.


Stylistically, I paint in a representational manner. I enjoy the multi-sensory experience of working directly from my subject the smell of a ripe peach or if outdoors, the smell of dry grasses, the feel of warm breezes, the sound of birds’ songs. I hope in some way these experiences make it into my painting.
